Typical split-ring keyrings are fidgety and mundane, so I decided to reimagine a new, alternative way to carry keys. After iterative developments through physical making and user testing, these brass keyrings evolved into well-resolved products.
I designed 3 shapes with easy and secure opening mechanisms.
I handmade 30 keyrings to a professional finish, they sold out at the GSA shop within 48 hours. At the request of the shop, I made another 30 to sell a few months later. Between sales and personal gifts, I estimate there's about a hundred of these in the pockets of users, which is very fun to think about. I’m investigating automated manufacturing using CNC wire bending, for continued sale.
The keyring is currently fighting for an opportunity to be produced by Made.com here, click through and leave some love to increase the chances!
