Experience, Qualifications & Awards
As a versatile design engineer and maker, I'm interested in how thoughtful design can improve our quality of life and craft a better future.
My time studying Product Design Engineering exposed me to the creative atmosphere at the Glasgow School of Art. This informed my interests, spanning beyond industrial design into physical making, interaction design and visual communication.
My process is driven by curiosity and exploration. My practice involves first understanding user needs, then imagining a better interaction and finally, executing this concept with simplicity. This requires the synthesis of user research, design thinking and engineering rigour, which are all areas I truly enjoy and excel within. I have a design blog if you'd like to read more.
For September - December 2018 I was based in Spain, completing a Graphic Design placement at LAB Sevilla and a vocational course in creative entrepreneurship - and learning Spanish! I enjoyed this explorative time but it also prompted a desire to return to innovative product design, and I am now working on integrating solar technologies into everyday lives with Marjan van Aubel in Amsterdam.
As an individual, my priorities include always ensuring I eat well with good company, take part and engage fully in exciting work projects, and breathe in fresh air all over the world.
